ZEP Zero Emission Pole by Valmont

Climate change is now more than ever a concern. We see an important role for ourselves as industrial providing products for the public authorities. 

Our big question is: “How can we and our products contribute to a better environment?” In the meanwhile this sustainability ambition has become our “way of life” due to the way we work within Valmont. For years, our mission “Conserving Resources. Improving Life”, has been placed in the heart of our irrigation and structures businesses.

ZEP or Zero Emission Pole is a CO2 neutral lighting or traffic pole in wood, steel or aluminum.

No CO2 impact on our environment, starting from the winning of the material, wood, iron ore or bauxite till the end of the lifecycle of the pole in your urban area.

Before we could offer you these ZEP products, an international scientific study has been done about the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of a lighting pole in wood, steel and aluminum.

For each material, CO2 emission are neutralized in participating to Trees for Travel program to plant oil trees in Mali Africa.

This includes planting shrubs that absorb CO2 and produces nuts, containing significant amounts of oil that can be used in the production of biodiesel. Then, a sustainable industry can start and offer a sustainable income for the local population.
