Solid wood poles are named after Finland's lake areas: Vuoksi, Kuolimo, Luonteri and Sumpsa. The lake regions have around 179,000 islands and Finnish pine grows slowly into a close-grained and durable material. The beautiful lakes and islands have been formed over thousands of years as the Ice Age shaped the land. Individual lakes of the waterway regions are connected by short river sections, channels or man-made canals into a complex labyrinth.
